Electric Actuator

The 90-degree rotary electric actuator is designed in compliance with ISO 5211 standards, providing a torque range from 90 kgf·cm to 35,000 kgf·cm.
Each actuator is equipped with a mechanical position indicator that can be connected to a control box to display the valve’s opening position through signal feedback.
In addition, a manual override mechanism is built in, allowing manual operation when the power supply is interrupted, ensuring safety and operational continuity.

Step (1) Select Voltage

Before selecting an actuator, please confirm that the valve torque is lower than the actuator output torque.
Use the following safety factor as a reference (Ball Valve example):
Torque ≤ 1000 kgf·cm → × 1.5
Torque > 1000 kgf·cm → × 1.3

Cautions

  • Do not operate the actuator in explosive or hazardous environments, such as areas containing corrosive gases, chemicals, or saltwater.
  • To prevent static discharge, keep hands and tools away from all internal electrical components.
  • Ensure the actuator is properly grounded before operation.
  • Always disconnect all power sources before removing the actuator cover for installation, adjustment, inspection, or wiring work, to prevent serious injury or equipment damage.
  • When installed in humid locations or areas with large temperature fluctuations, activate the internal heater to reduce condensation and prevent potential damage.
  • For outdoor applications, it is recommended to select an aluminum housing for better protection.
  • Avoid direct sunlight exposure; use a suitable protective cover if necessary.
  • Do not mount the actuator upside down (refer to Diagram 1 for correct installation orientation).

Piping Installation Instructions

  • Always ensure the specified voltage is applied to the actuator.
  • Each actuator must be controlled by its own relay circuit to prevent voltage feedback and possible actuator damage.
  • Confirm that the valve torque does not exceed the maximum allowable torque of the actuator.
  • To access internal components, loosen the four captive cover bolts and remove the top cover. After all work is completed, replace the cover and secure it tightly with the screws to maintain waterproof integrity.
  • Make sure power is completely isolated before using the manual override or handwheel.
For models LD-1 to LD-3, use an 8 mm wrench (wrench length should not exceed 10 cm) to operate the manual override.
For models LD-3HR to LD-12, a handwheel is provided. Push the handwheel inward to engage the clutch, then rotate gently to operate.
  • The cable glands are designed for cables with an outer diameter of 9.8 mm – 11.3 mm. To maintain IP67 protection, ensure the cable gland and sealing fitting are fully tightened.
  • Any unused cable entry must remain sealed with the provided plug.
  • Do not remove factory-installed plugs, as they have already been properly sealed.
